STRUGGLE NO MORE

STRUGGLE NO MORE

There is no struggle in the Kingdom of God. The World struggles and fights and claws for what it wants. Sons freely receive. Now, why do we have Christians today struggling to receive? A good kingdom definition of a Son could be called: a submitted one.

Submission is our position in the Kingdom of God. It’s the way we receive all things from God. Religion is always trying to take, take, take from God, yet never receive from God. Submission is our sacrifice, and if we can’t give that which is our reasonable service, then we are wrestling with God.

Trying to get Him to bless, trying to get Him to deliver us, trying to get Him to heal us...Yet never amounting to any of it because we want Him to be a magic gene.

To submit is to receive. Receive what? Anything that God wants us to receive. Yet we want God to give to us as we imagine. God does what He wants and we role with it. If we learn to just roll with God, we keep our mind in peace. When we want another way or something else, we struggle.

“That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.” The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because of his hip. Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon.” Genesis 32:22-32

Jacob overcame the struggle with man and with God. How many times do we struggle with God and never overcome because we don’t want to submit? Jacob overcame because He submitted. “I will not let you go until you bless me”. What came after submission? Blessing.

A new name was given to Him and forever was his act remembered. Some of us can’t get to that level of blessing because we want to go another round with God. God had Jacob by the hip from the beginning of the fight. His injured hip was what made him walk different.

God has the key that will make your walk different. He has the tendon attached to the socket of your hip that will set you free. And the whole time, just like Jacob, God is holding the key to your freedom just like He held Jacob’s hip the WHOLE time.

Get out of the ring! Submit! It’s never going to look like what you think it’s going to look like. It’s not going to feel what you think it feels like. Just submit and be happy that you’re in God’s will even if it looks opposite of what you thought. See, it’s what we think that makes us stumble. Jacob thought he was going to outwrestle God and be blessed over it. Yet, it was His submission, it was his ability to just receive what God had for Him, and the result was blessing, honor, and a new name!

What’s your story? What’s your struggle? Whatever it is, submission is your key. And at the end of the day, you will take part in God’s victory!
