SUBJECT YOURSELVES

Subject Yourselves

For “He has put all things under His feet. But when He says all things are put under Him, it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.1 Corinthians 15:27

“Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.Ephesians 1:15-23

Here we understand that Jesus has all power and authority in His hands. God the Father giving Christ the Son all power under the sun. Everything is in His subjection as He pleases. People don’t understand how in control Jesus really is. He has the power to do anything to anybody or anything, He can change anybody He wants to.

He can change an atheist into a believer in an eye blink. He has the power to change governments and countries, move storms and impact nations, turn stones into children of God. All things are subjected to Him. Even those scriptures say that principalities and powers are subjected to Him. Even the devil and the kingdom of darkness are subject to Him.

What does subjection mean? To have control of or power over. Yet even though Christ has all that power, He still gives man their free will and darkness its legal rights through man’s free will. Everybody preaches free will, and they preach it with joy like it’s good to have free will. Though I tell you now, free will is a death sentence. Free-will will lead you to self-destruct, and it will open the door for the enemy to do whatever he wants.

The biggest enemy in the church today is the carnal mind. Forget principalities, forget powers, forget demons. They are only able to have power over you when you’re in the flesh. And the root of being in the flesh is carnality. That carnal, that human mind, is the enemy of God. This is the war in the church today, the Holy Spirit vs. the carnal mind.

We must subject ourselves to His Spirit or else carnality will take us over, and we will be like those that God says He turns away from. The ones who confess with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. And many are confessing all the time and boasting about how Jesus has all power and everything is in His subjection. Well, it’s time for the news to break in. Just because everything is under His feet, doesn’t mean it’s under yours. And just because you yourself are under His feet, doesn’t mean He will pull you into His subjection. He does what He wants and He looks upon the heart.

Jesus has every soul in subjection to Him if He wants, but He will only move on those that are worthy in His sight, the ones who are willing to give up their life for Him. Why do you think many drug addicts or any type addict or anyone who had a hard past, why do you think they usually end up getting radically saved? Usually because they don’t even want to live like this anymore. Usually it’s because they gave up trying to do life or live life for themselves, and they are tired of it. And God has brought them into glory. Jesus can change anybody He wants but He is looking for the willing one!

Jesus, the one who has all things in His hand, has power to take control of anyone or do anything with anyone when He pleases. That man is looking for one thing, a people that will be subject to the subjecter, a people that submit themselves to Him. Though not just in word and in deed, but a people that will take their insides and subject it to Him.

People who will even take their thoughts, their desires, and their feelings and throw it at His feet! And they will say, “You interpret this life for me.” “You show this earthly man what a heavenly man thinks like or feels like.” – A people that will not think for themselves, a people that will not deal with their feelings and thoughts without taking it to Him. They have given their life up so much to the point that they don’t even think or attend to their emotions without God.

Don’t let the carnal mind interpret what’s happening around you and within you. Your carnal will always think contrary to the Kingdom. Someone may come in your life with a genuine heart and bless you with something, and your carnal mind may tell you something that will put that person in a bad light. Though the Spirit will always show you the truth. Who are you listening to? There’s no middle ground. You’re either hearing from your own carnal mind or the Holy Spirit.

“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

Paul was giving the Corinthian church revelation right there. There are only two enemies in the church, the flesh and the Spirit. When you and your brother or sister are in the Spirit, there will be no disagreements. Why? Because the Spirit has one mind, one doctrine, one truth, one way, one everything. When there’s a double-mind, there is instability. So when two minds come together and one is not in agreement with the mind of Christ, there will be arguments and reviling and all of the above. We need to subject our thoughts. We need to take them in captivity and make it obedient to Christ.

In other words, I’m going to make sure all my thoughts and everything that comes to my heart goes through the filter first. And that filter is Christ. And I’m going to let Christ through the Holy Spirit think and handle my thoughts so that I would be on one accord with the Truth and the Spirit and in agreement with the body. There are no schisms when everyone is aligned with the Spirit. The center point of unity is the Spirit of God, and in Him we live and have our being, and in Him comes true unity.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:6-7

See, there’s too much thinking going on in the church today and not enough praying. Praying is our answer. Not just praying as in declaring, but praying as in that place where you and Abba, Father sit together. Prayer is not a place. Prayer is a state of mind. And when we constantly take everything to that secret place in our heart that we have with Him, God brings peace, and not only peace, but He begins to move in our life. And as we’re praying, we’re leaving our life in subjection to Him, because when we pray we’re always waiting on His guidance and wisdom. Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.Proverbs 3:5-6

This is the problem we have right here, religion was made on this one thing: Man’s understanding. The seven spirits of God are made to invade the church. They are the characteristics of the Holy Spirit, which is here to give us understanding, knowledge, wisdom, the fear of the Lord, might, counsel and God Himself. If we’re not being invaded by these streams everyday, we will rely on our own understanding. These seven streams must guide our being in every way or else our understanding will kick us in to carnality and the flesh will bring forth spiritual death.

“Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.Luke 10:38-42

This is the two types of people we have in the church today. One who is always doing and always trying to be a better Christian or be good, trying to do works, trying to strive. Yet God was pleased with Mary, the one that was at His feet, waiting for His words, waiting on His next command, waiting on what He has for her or what He is saying. This is her act of being subjected to Christ.

Is that you today? Are you at the Lord’s feet? The Bible implies that everything under His feet is subjected to Him. Where are you? Are you at His feet? Those that lay at His feet shall be subjected to Him for His glory. And He will raise them up in the last day. And everything in their life shall be subjected to them!
